Excellent Opportunity for Member CFPs

Over the last several years, the Financial Planning Association of Illinois has made a concerted effort in our Financial Literacy outreach program in connecting FPA members to local area libraries.  We have received a great boost in our endeavors as many libraries have expressed an interest in participating in Monday Smart Week, April 20-26, 2008. Money Smart Week is sponsored by the Federal Reserve Board of Chicago and FPA Illinois has played an every increasing roll in their program by connecting qualified planners with the community at large.  Please take advantage of this excellent opportunity by reviewing the enclosed library listing and topics form. In addition to the enclosed, a spreadsheet listing the libraries with topics, dates and times is posted on the FPA of Illinois website.

If you are interested in participating, please review the available dates and libraries on our website. The highlighted libraries are still available. Complete the attached form and return it to Dee Farris at dee.farris@fpaillinois.org. Presentations will be assigned on a first come-first served basis so please contact Dee at your earliest convenience.  Also, libraries have long publicity deadlines and we would like to forward them your name and presentation topic as soon as possible. If  needed, we can provide you with PowerPoint presentations on behalf of the FPA.

Thanks and we look forward to your participation!

Tax to Offset AMT Patch Appears Unlikely

Tip of the Week

Sit back relax and keep that bottle of TUMS handy. The market is bound and determined to stay on a rollercoaster for now and thru end of the year. Tax selling, year end rebalancing and house cleaning by both individuals and institutions will only add to the uneasiness that many clients and their advisors have felt for most of this year, so round and round we go and where we stop nobody really knows, so stay the course if you can and you will be happy and less frayed long after Santa has come and gone.

Happy Holidays to All.
